Today we are remembering one of our favorite couples from the Springs Preserve. Tracy and William came to Vegas for their destination wedding. One of our favorite things about this reception was the beautiful DIY centerpieces made with moss, wood, bird statues and cages. They were amazing. Enjoy these beautiful photos from The Black Chicken.

Discovery Children's Museum in Las Vegas Lives Up to the Hype
We have been hearing about the newly designed Discovery Children's Museum housed in the same area as the legendary Smith Center in downtown Las Vegas. Rained out from the pool again, a friend and I decided to load up the kids and finally check it out. It was amazing!
Discovery is $12.00 per person (ages 1 to 99) for tickets or you can purchase an annual membership. The museum is comprised of 3 floors of entertaining and educational exhibits for all ages including us old folks! Our little ones loved the animal sound wall in the toddler room and the puppet show on the first floor (we skipped the water room till the end...).
We followed this down to floor two and lost another good hour to games about nutrition and a huge area focused on what kids want to be when they grow up. Focus included a mechanic garage, airport baggage processing, fully functional grocery store with groceries and cashier stations, and a veterinarian office.
The kids and the parents started to get tired after three amazing hours and started to head towards the exit. Ooops, we forgot the water room! The kids jetted towards the water like it was chocolate. This room is truly designed to capture the hearts and minds of kids of all heights.

Smith Center - For Small Events Too
I am lucky to be a on the board of a group that has planned multiple meetings at the Smith Center over the last year. Unknown to many, the Smith Center offers a unique venue for your corporate and social events. Catered by the Las Vegas Culinary Academy, this facility offers multiple food and beverage options from appetizers to full meals, with and without bar options. Choose from the Boardroom, the Founders Room (my favorite), and many other fantastic spaces. Enjoy the pictures below of a recent event at the Founders Room.

Angel Park Putt Putt Experience
Looking for your next corporate event that everyone will love? Check out Angel Park's Putt Putt event. They have an affordable buffet and putt putt package that works for everyone! the banquet space has been newly renovated including new furniture and patio access. It is a great space for 25 to 100 people. After dinner, move outside to the putt putt course. The course is nine holes that mimic one of the actual golf courses, sand traps and all. My favorite way to pick the winner is to separate the scores of the men and women and blindly pull their names out of bowls, combining scores of 1 man and 1 woman until everyone has been paired. The couple with the lowest score wins! These pictures were shared from a recent NCMA Southern Nevada meeting held at the club in June 2013. Happy golfing!

Fun Holiday Biscuit - Gobble Gobble
These fun and festive holiday biscuits are fun and easy to make! I give them as holiday gifts to my son's teachers, in baskets to my friends for their holiday tables and bring a batch to every Thanksgiving.
Turkey Biscuits – Use Pillsbury Grands™ Flaky Biscuits (Regular, not Butter)
1. Cut off - bottom 1/3 of biscuit
2. From center of remaining biscuit, score (do not cut all the way through), from middle to outer edge to form a sunrise pattern.
3. Attach the top 1/3 of the remaining portion of biscuit, to the bottom backside of main piece.
4. Wrap the remaining 2/3‘s around the bottom of biscuit, bringing it up and over the center of your “sunrise”.
5. Press the front and back (1/3 each side) together. (So it bakes together)
6. Fold the remaining 1/3 piece towards you, to form the beak of the turkey.
7. Cut a raisin in half or into fourths, depending on size.
8. Push two raisin pieces at the top fold of attached beak, to form eyes. If they are not securely pushed in, they will pop out during baking and nothing looks sadder than a blind turkey on Thanksgiving!
9. Bake as directed.

Cosmopolitan Meets Vintage Chic - A Look Back
I recently came across some photos from a wedding in 2011 that has always been one of my favorites. I was fortunate to be a part of the venue coordination team to help bring this spectacular event to life. My favorites are Kassie's amazing dress that had more sparkle than a diamond and the abundance of flowers the Event Planner brought all the way here from the Midwest. The aisle of 24,000+ rose petals took me forever to put down but is still one of my favorite aisle runners ever. AND I just found out the wedding was published in the Destination Weddings & Honeymoons Magazine.
